Roasted Punter – Round 6

If you’re reading this thinking this is a guide to making a fortune punting, then you need to exit right now. This is for the average mug punter who goes out not expecting to have enough money to pay rent at the end of the week.

I’m bad at punting. Like, Justin Hodges Origin debut bad.

But one thing I’m really good at is taking the piss out of myself and putting myself on show for everyone to do the same. So I thought I would post up my bets for every week and let you follow along the journey of the Roasted Punter.
I’ll post up my tips for each game, and then focus on either the Line, Total Points Over/Under, and Margin, unless something in the exotics really tickles my fancy.

Cronulla v Penrith

I’m tipping the Panthers to finally come good this weekend against a weakened Sharks side missing Woods and Moylan, and possibly Fifita with a dodgy hammy.
The Panthers will have +3.5 points but I think the head to head option is better at $2.27.
My Bet: Panthers H2H – $25 @$2.27
Multi: Panthers +3.5/Under 39.5 @$3.75
Anytime Tryscorer: Bronson Xerri @$2.50

Bulldogs v Rabbitohs

In the traditional Good Friday clash I’m tipping the Rabbitohs, in a game that could be a margin of anywhere between 2 and 2000 points. Great value in the Rabbits 13+ @$2.20 and they have to cover -8.5. The over at 40.5 points doesn’t excite me that much, so being Good Friday I’ll put my faith in the exotics and look to Cameron Murray as an anytime tryscorer for this one.
My Bet: Cameron Murray (Anytime Tryscorer) – $25 @$4.00
Alternative: Rabbitohs 13+ @2.20
Over/Under: Over 40.5 @1.90

Storm v Roosters

The Grand Final rematch. The clash of the Heavyweights.
The perfect way to end a day filled with screaming kids, and boring family stories over a Good Friday seafood feast
I’ve taken the Storm (I’ll take them until they let me down) but you could toss a coin in this one.
Storm having to cover just -0.5 in this one, and the Under is at 34.5. The game is going to be a grind with 2 of the best defensive teams going at it. The Line/Under is going to be my multi for this game.
My Bet: Storm -0.5/Under 34.5 – $25 @3.60
Alternative: Either team by 6 or less @2.56
Anytime Tryscorer: Cameron Munster @4.50

Warriors v Cowboys

I’ve taken the Warriors in this one as they looked good against the Rabbitohs, and I think the Cowboys will continue to struggle. Warriors 13+ is one of the only bets I’m feeling really confident about, so in saying that probably best to stay well away from it.
My Bet: Warriors 13+ – $25 @$2.50
Multi: Warriors -7.5/Over 40.5 points @$3.25
Anytime Tryscorer: Chanel Harris-Tavita @$4.50

Dragons v Sea Eagles

Taking the Dragons in this one in the game that divides my family. Even though it was the Bulldogs last week, the Dragons showed plenty of fire as they are starting to heat up after a lacklustre start.
Manly also achieving better than expected, having won 3 straight including a win over the Rabbitohs.
My Bet: Dragons 1-12 – $25 @$3.00
Multi: Dragons -6.5/Over 39.5 Points @$3.30
Anytime Tryscorer: Tariq Sims @$3.50

Titans v Knights

I originally took the Titans in this one, but changed to the Knights at the last minute.
Another game I’m expecting plenty of points from so I’ll take the Overs in this one, and throw in the Knights to cover the -0.5
My Bet: Knights -0.5/Over 40.5 – $25 @$3.50
Multi: As Above
Anytime Tryscorer: Lachlan Fitzgibbon @$3.00

Raiders v Broncos

I took the Raiders in this one as they are looking good, but also because I can’t trust the Broncos yet. I’ll jump back on them when they look like winning a game again.
The Raiders really should have put 50 on the Eels last week, and I think they will make up for it this week against the Broncos.
The Raiders will cover the -4.5 and I like the Overs at 37.5, But i’m gonna go with my guy, John “The King of Shithousery” Bateman to score a try during the game @ $4.50
My Bet: John Bateman (Anytime Tryscorer) – $25 @$4.50
Multi: Raiders -4.5/Over 37.5 @$3.00

Eels v Tigers

The battle of the West. What a cracker this will be. Sold out game on Easter Monday.
The H2H is a coin flip, and there’s nothing in the line, unless you want to throw either of them and the Over/Under at 38.5.
Stick with the the Tryscorers for this one. Expect Gutherson to have a blinder to put the pressure on the Eels hierarchy in the contract negotiations.
My Bet: Clint Gutherson (Anytime Tryscorer) – $25 @$2.88
Multi: Clint Gutherson/Robert Jennings (Anytime Tryscorers) @$8.29

Total Outlay: $200

Good luck out there Mugs and Happy punting!!!
