Cameron Smith names his QLD spine

With injuries to Cameron Munster and Harry Grant possibly seeing them miss Origin I, former Origin great Cam Smith has named their replacements.

“I’d probably put Kalyn Ponga in there” Smith said on 1170SEN’s ‘The Captain’c Call’ today.

“The safe way would be to go for Ponga at #6, [Hunt at #14] yep, great value as a utility, if Grant’s not there”

“Pending the health of those two players in particular (Munster and Grant), Ponga #6, Hunt on the bench, AJ Brimson at fullback”

Having already stated last week that he would start Reed Mahoney and have Grant at #14, it will be interesting to see if the selectors are thinking the same way as the Origin great come Sunday night.
